Writing this article is not easy at all, as everyone traveler is unique, and we don’t think there is a unified manual for how to pack for such a long time. But at least we want to share our list of things for both genders, which hopefully will help you in packing. We are writing this article after 2 months of traveling and we have to say that we have not missed anything yet 🙂
What is the right size of backpack to choose for trip around the world
We chose Forclaz 50L backpacks from Decathlon for our trip because we like a good quality/price ratio. Remember that the bigger the backpack, the more kiloss you have on your back. We have 50L and our backpack weighs around 16 kg. We also carry small 15L backpacks (Decathlon), where we bring important documents, drinks and other things that we need to have close to us.
Visa requirements!
Before traveling, we applied for a second passport at the municipal office in case one of them will be stolen or lost from us abroad (just tell the official that you need it because of visa requirements). Before traveling, also check in which countries you need a visa and whether it is possible to apply for a visa on arrival or must be handled at a consulate before your trip.
Other practical advices
Be sure to pack travel adapter into a electric outlet (we have the Skross World brand) and a power strip if you carry a lot of electronics just like we do.
Next, take Dollars or Euros in case of emergency (we used it in China when the ATM withdrawal did not work).
Another advice is to take a filter bottle with you because water in China is not drinkable and so you will have to buy lot of plastic bottles. We have lifestraw with us, but it does not suit us completely so we have to buy another one.
And of course don´t forget about travel insurance. We chose travel insurance from True traveller which is valid for 1 year and worldwide:).
